PTCL has recently changed the tariff with unexpected increase. The worthiest part of the news is that now there is no More unlimited downloading allowed for Broadband packages of 4Mbps, 6Mbps and 8Mbps DSL broadband packs. In addition Student Package tariff is also increased.
Now Student Package is available for Rs. 929 (before it was 879). The Simple 1Mbps Pack is available for Rs. 999 only.
What I personally found the worthiest part from PTCL Broadband is that 4Mbps, 6Mbps and 8Mbps broadband connections are no More Unlimited, monthly Data downloading limit of 50GBs applied now on these packages. If the user exceeds the download limit additional charges of Rs. 1000 will apply.
50GBs downloading limit is too less for all of us, one who has basic knowledge of IT can easily counter that 50GBs limit can be reached within 14-15 days, and for those who are sharing their broadband connections with neighbors and friends, 50GBs is just a matter of a week for them. Its very unfortunate for all of PTCL users because we all preferred PTCL because of its unlimited downloading.
Here is a small table of new tariff with limited and unlimited usage.

*New Tariff will be applied from 1st of August, 2011.
The good thing is that 1Mbps(at Rs.1199 ) and 2Mbps (at Rs. 1499 ) are still unlimited. And for big fishes 10Mbps, 20Mbps and 50 Mbps are also unlimited.
Note: charges may vary up to Rs 100 because of taxes and landline charges etc.

I agree bro! I think if we all boycott 4Mbps then i might be possible that they will roll back to previous rates
